Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included this untitled work by Prabhakar Barwe. The price achieved of USD 80,500.00 (€ 60,371.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 75,000.00 – 95,000.00. Admittedly, works by Prabhakar Barwe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Chess-Board in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 333,445.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Prabhakar Barwe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 60.371,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 75.000,00 – 95.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Prabhakar Barwe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Chess-Board im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 333.445,16).
