Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work The Blue Envelope by Prabhakar Barwe for USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,449.19). This price was achieved in the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Prabhakar Barwe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Chess-Board in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 333,445.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Blue Envelope von Prabhakar Barwe für USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.449,19) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Prabhakar Barwe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Chess-Board im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 333.445,16).
