Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Madonna And Child With The Infant Saint John The Baptist by Pompeo Batoni was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 96,542.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pompeo Batoni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Susanna And The Elders in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 11,394,500.00 (€ 8,712,057.50).

Die Arbeit The Madonna And Child With The Infant Saint John The Baptist von Pompeo Batoni kam im Juli 2016 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 96.542,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
