A top price for Pietro della Vecchia - as previously expected
In February 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Man Drawing A Sword by Pietro della Vecchia. The price achieved of USD 182,500.00 (€ 139,536.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Man Drawing A Sword is the most expensive artwork by Pietro della Vecchia that we have observed at auctions so far.
