Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 45,425.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pietro della Vecchia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man Drawing A Sword, which sold at auction in February 2013 for USD 182,500.00 (€ 139,536.66).
