Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work The Judgement Of Midas In The Contest Between Apollo And Pan by Pieter Codde for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,356.76). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Codde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Family Portrait With Husband, Wife And Two Daughters Seated At A Table Draped In Red Cloth, A Son Playing A Lute, Another Son Holding A Fiddle Beside A Lady Playing The Virginal, A Maidservant Pouring Wine By The Window, And A Dog Resting On The Floor in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 245,000.00 (€ 347

Im Mai 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Judgement Of Midas In The Contest Between Apollo And Pan von Pieter Codde für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.356,76) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Masters bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Codde erzielen.
