Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Man, Half-Length, Holding A Scroll by Pieter Codde was sold in the Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction at Sothebys in London in May 2020. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,101.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Codde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Family Portrait With Husband, Wife And Two Daughters Seated At A Table Draped In Red Cloth, A Son Playing A Lute, Another Son Holding A Fiddle Beside A Lady Playing The Virginal, A Maidservant Pouring Wine By The Window, And A Dog Resting On The Floor in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 245,000.00 (€ 347

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Man, Half-Length, Holding A Scroll von Pieter Codde wurde im Mai 2020 in der Auktion Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.101,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Codde erzielen.
