Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Emeka Onu, Enugu, Nigeria from Nollywood by Pieter Hugo was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in November last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,680.42). Admittedly, works by Pieter Hugo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mummy Ahmadu and Mallam Mantari Lamal with Mainasara, Abuja, Nigeria, 2005 in May 2018 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 64,053.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Emeka Onu, Enugu, Nigeria from Nollywood von Pieter Hugo wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 9.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.680,42) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Hugo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mummy Ahmadu and Mallam Mantari Lamal with Mainasara, Abuja, Nigeria, 2005 im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 64.053,66).
