Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mallam Mantari Lamal with Mainasara, Nigeria from The Hyena and Other Men by Pieter Hugo was auctioned at Phillips in London in May this year. The price achieved of GBP 24,130.00 (€ 28,075.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter Hugo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mummy Ahmadu and Mallam Mantari Lamal with Mainasara, Abuja, Nigeria, 2005, which sold at auction in May 2018 for GBP 56,250.00 (€ 64,053.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mallam Mantari Lamal with Mainasara, Nigeria from The Hyena and Other Men von Pieter Hugo kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 24.130,00 (€ 28.075,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Pieter Hugo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mummy Ahmadu and Mallam Mantari Lamal with Mainasara, Abuja, Nigeria, 2005 beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für GBP 56.250,00 (€ 64.053,66) versteigert wurde.
