Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Bearded Tit by Pieter Holsteyn the Younger was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2019. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,365.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Holsteyn the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A tulip book: a volume containing 42 drawings of tulips and one added drawing of a tulip, and another drawing of an iris in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 124,750.00 (€ 201,842.23).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A tulip book: a volume containing 42 drawings of tulips and one added drawing of a tulip, and another drawing of an iris im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 124.750,00 (€ 201.842,23).
