Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Waxwing (Bombycilla) by Pieter Holsteyn the Younger was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2015. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,697.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Holsteyn the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A tulip book: a volume containing 42 drawings of tulips and one added drawing of a tulip, and another drawing of an iris in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 124,750.00 (€ 201,842.23).

Die Arbeit A Waxwing (Bombycilla) von Pieter Holsteyn the Younger kam im Dezember 2015 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.697,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Holsteyn the Younger erzielen.
