This artwork by Peter Brueghel II achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2020. In the Remastered: Contemporary Art and Old Masters auction, the work The Adoration of the Magi sold for GBP 551,250.00 (€ 614,877.38) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Brueghel II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Battle between Carnival and Lent in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,873,250.00 (€ 8,231,687.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 84 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Brueghel II erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Remastered: Contemporary Art and Old Masters wurde die Arbeit The Adoration of the Magi für GBP 551.250,00 (€ 614.877,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Brueghel II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Battle between Carnival and Lent im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.873.250,00 (€ 8.231.687,76).
