In January 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work The blind hurdy-gurdy player by Peter Brueghel II for USD 126,000.00 (€ 110,120.61). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Brueghel II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Battle between Carnival and Lent in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,873,250.00 (€ 8,231,687.76).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im Januar 2024 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The blind hurdy-gurdy player von Peter Brueghel II für USD 126.000,00 (€ 110.120,61) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Masters bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Brueghel II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Battle between Carnival and Lent im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.873.250,00 (€ 8.231.687,76).
