Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peasants feasting and merrymaking in a village street by Peter Brueghel II was sold in the Old Masters Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in London in July last year. The price achieved of GBP 1,184,500.00 (€ 1,414,503.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peter Brueghel II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Battle between Carnival and Lent in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,873,250.00 (€ 8,231,687.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Peasants feasting and merrymaking in a village street von Peter Brueghel II wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.184.500,00 (€ 1.414.503,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Brueghel II auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Battle between Carnival and Lent im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.873.250,00 (€ 8.231.687,76).
