Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2002 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work Vesuvius erupting at night by Pierre-Jacques Volaire. The price achieved of GBP 23,900.00 (€ 36,687.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pierre-Jacques Volaire have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vesuvius erupting at night seen from the foothills, with elegant onlookers, a view of the Bay of Naples beyond in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 142,400.00 (€ 206,549.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vesuvius erupting at night von Pierre-Jacques Volaire zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 23.900,00 (€ 36.687,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre-Jacques Volaire auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vesuvius erupting at night seen from the foothills, with elegant onlookers, a view of the Bay of Naples beyond im Juli 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 142.400,00 (€ 206.549,86).
