A top price for Philipp Galle - as previously expected
The work Semideorum Marinorum... (Sea And River Gods) (Holl. 412-429; B. 90:1-17) by Philipp Galle was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,134.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Semideorum Marinorum... (Sea And River Gods) (Holl. 412-429; B. 90:1-17) is the most expensive artwork by Philipp Galle that we have observed at auctions so far.
