Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Katie In Front Of The Mirror by Philip Sutton was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in March 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,942.89). Admittedly, works by Philip Sutton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers From Crown House in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 6,500.00 (€ 8,832.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Katie In Front Of The Mirror von Philip Sutton im März 2007 bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.942,89) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip Sutton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers From Crown House im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.500,00 (€ 8.832,40).
