Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Imogen in a black hat by Philip Sutton was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in May 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,090.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Philip Sutton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers From Crown House in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 6,500.00 (€ 8,832.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Imogen in a black hat von Philip Sutton wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.090,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip Sutton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers From Crown House im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.500,00 (€ 8.832,40).
