Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Mrs Bryan Barrett (1759–1834), three-quarter-length, seated, wearing a white dress with a black sash and a yellow leather glove, holding a straw hat by Philip Jean was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in April last year. The price achieved of GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,709.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philip Jean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paul Sandby (1731-1809), In Blue Coat, White Waistcoat And Cravat, Powdered Hair En Queue, Holding A Pen And Open Book; Landscape Background With Windsor Castle In The Distance in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 42,117.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Mrs Bryan Barrett (1759–1834), three-quarter-length, seated, wearing a white dress with a black sash and a yellow leather glove, holding a straw hat von Philip Jean wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.709,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden.
