This artwork by Philip Jean achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2019. In the The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II auction, the work Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1785 sold for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,548.29) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Philip Jean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paul Sandby (1731-1809), In Blue Coat, White Waistcoat And Cravat, Powdered Hair En Queue, Holding A Pen And Open Book; Landscape Background With Windsor Castle In The Distance in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 42,117.82).

In der Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1785 für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.548,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00.
