Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of a gentleman, bust-length, in a blue coat and green waistcoat, in a feigned oval by Philip Jean was sold in the Christie's Interiors Including Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours From The Collection of The Late John Appleby auction at Christies in London in March 2011. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,414.37). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Jean achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paul Sandby (1731-1809), In Blue Coat, White Waistcoat And Cravat, Powdered Hair En Queue, Holding A Pen And Open Book; Landscape Background With Windsor Castle In The Distance in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 42,117.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, bust-length, in a blue coat and green waistcoat, in a feigned oval von Philip Jean wurde im März 2011 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors Including Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours From The Collection of The Late John Appleby bei Christies in London versteigert.
