Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection, which included the work Portrait of the artist's wife: Anne Jean, née Noel (d. 1787) by Philip Jean. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,276.00 (€ 3,659.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Jean achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paul Sandby (1731-1809), In Blue Coat, White Waistcoat And Cravat, Powdered Hair En Queue, Holding A Pen And Open Book; Landscape Background With Windsor Castle In The Distance in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 42,117.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of the artist's wife: Anne Jean, née Noel (d. 1787) von Philip Jean zur Versteigerung kam.
