Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The chase (illustrated); and On the scent by Philip Rideout was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,284.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philip Rideout - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Going to the meet; Returning from the meet, which sold at auction in February 2002 for USD 2,350.00 (€ 2,714.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The chase (illustrated); and On the scent von Philip Rideout kam im November 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.062,50 (€ 1.284,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Philip Rideout mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Going to the meet; Returning from the meet beobachtet, die im Februar 2002 für USD 2.350,00 (€ 2.714,25) versteigert wurde.
