Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Promenade public (Fenaille 33; Inventaire 18e siècle, VI, p. 175, no. 26) by Philibert Louis Debucourt was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,294.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philibert Louis Debucourt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scène De Noces Villageoises, which sold at auction in March 2015 for EUR 22,100.00.
