Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Paintings, which included the work View Of Verkh-Neivinsky by Petr Vereshchagin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 42,500.00 (€ 49,605.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Petr Vereshchagin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View Of Palace Square, St Petersburg in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 506,500.00 (€ 591,176.21).
