This artwork by Petr Vereshchagin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2012. In the Russian Paintings auction, the work View Of Ai-Petri, Crimea sold for GBP 33,650.00 (€ 41,453.39) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Petr Vereshchagin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View Of Palace Square, St Petersburg in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 506,500.00 (€ 591,176.21).
