In December 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction European Noble and Private Collections incl. Fine Paintings, which included the work Shipping in an estuary with figures on a jetty and a town beyond by Peter van de Velde. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 6,250.00 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter van de Velde have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ansicht von Antwerpen mit Schiffen auf See. in March 2007 with an auction result of CHF 90,000.00 (€ 55,491.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2010 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion European Noble and Private Collections incl. Fine Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shipping in an estuary with figures on a jetty and a town beyond von Peter van de Velde zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 6.250,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter van de Velde auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ansicht von Antwerpen mit Schiffen auf See. im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 90.000,00 (€ 55.491,25).
