Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction European Noble and Private Collections incl. Fine Paintings, which included the work Dutch and English Man O'War off the coast near a fortified town; and Galley's and other ships at anchor in a natural harbor near a fortified town by Peter van de Velde. The price achieved of EUR 5,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter van de Velde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ansicht von Antwerpen mit Schiffen auf See. in March 2007 with an auction result of CHF 90,000.00 (€ 55,491.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2010 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion European Noble and Private Collections incl. Fine Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch and English Man O'War off the coast near a fortified town; and Galley's and other ships at anchor in a natural harbor near a fortified town von Peter van de Velde zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 5.250,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter van de Velde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ansicht von Antwerpen mit Schiffen auf See. im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 90.000,00 (€ 55.491,25).
