The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,800.00 (€ 16,006.28), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Tillemans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A panoramic view of Chatsworth House and Park, with mares and foals in the foreground in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 265,250.00 (€ 337,857.21).

Die Arbeit A Cavalry Skirmish von Peter Tillemans wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion British Pictures 1500-1850 bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.800,00 (€ 16.006,28) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Tillemans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A panoramic view of Chatsworth House and Park, with mares and foals in the foreground im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 265.250,00 (€ 337.857,21).
