A top price for Peter Tillemans - as previously expected

The work A panoramic view of Chatsworth House and Park, with mares and foals in the foreground by Peter Tillemans was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 265,250.00 (€ 337,857.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A panoramic view of Chatsworth House and Park, with mares and foals in the foreground is the most expensive artwork by Peter Tillemans that we have observed at auctions so far.
