This artwork by Peter Tillemans achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2014. In the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work View Of Windsor Castle sold for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,073.00) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Tillemans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A panoramic view of Chatsworth House and Park, with mares and foals in the foreground in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 265,250.00 (€ 337,857.21).
