Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Couple In Car by Peter McLaren for GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British and Irish Art at Sothebys in Olympia and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter McLaren - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life with Poppies, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 9,987.50 (€ 15,893.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Couple In Car von Peter McLaren für GBP 3.840,00 (€ 5.702,52) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British and Irish Art bei Sothebys in Olympia erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter McLaren mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life with Poppies beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 9.987,50 (€ 15.893,26) versteigert wurde.
