Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings, which included the work Cyclist with upstretched arms by Peter McLaren. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,553.50 (€ 2,325.45). Admittedly, works by Peter McLaren have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Poppies in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 9,987.50 (€ 15,893.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cyclist with upstretched arms von Peter McLaren zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.553,50 (€ 2.325,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter McLaren auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Poppies im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.987,50 (€ 15.893,26).
