In October this year Bonhams in Paris held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Still Life with Poppies by Peter McLaren. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,176.00 (€ 2,498.65), 45% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter McLaren have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Poppies in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 9,987.50 (€ 15,893.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life with Poppies von Peter McLaren zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.176,00 (€ 2.498,65) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter McLaren auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Poppies im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.987,50 (€ 15.893,26).
