Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Leith cyclist by Peter McLaren was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2004. It achieved a price of GBP 1,852.25 (€ 2,772.65), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 23%. Admittedly, works by Peter McLaren have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Poppies in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 9,987.50 (€ 15,893.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Leith cyclist von Peter McLaren kam im März 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.852,25 (€ 2.772,65) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 23%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter McLaren auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Poppies im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.987,50 (€ 15.893,26).
