Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings, which included the work Man with cycle by Peter McLaren. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,405.75 (€ 5,098.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter McLaren - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life with Poppies, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 9,987.50 (€ 15,893.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man with cycle von Peter McLaren zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.405,75 (€ 5.098,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter McLaren mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life with Poppies beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 9.987,50 (€ 15.893,26) versteigert wurde.
