Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Catherine Deneuve by Peter Lindbergh was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,544.32). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Lindbergh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christy Turlington, Los Angeles, American Vogue, 1988 in May 2017 with an auction result of GBP 185,000.00 (€ 212,479.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Catherine Deneuve von Peter Lindbergh im Oktober 2021 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.544,32) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Lindbergh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christy Turlington, Los Angeles, American Vogue, 1988 im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 185.000,00 (€ 212.479,98).
