In May 2001 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, Part II, including the Studio Collection of, which included the work Two Figures in a dark Landscape by Peter Collis. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 763.75 (€ 1,280.44), 53% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter Collis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still life with fruit in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,861.17).

Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale, Part II, including the Studio Collection of durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Figures in a dark Landscape von Peter Collis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 763,75 (€ 1.280,44) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Collis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still life with fruit im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.572,50 (€ 9.861,17).
