In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Irish and 20th Century British Art, which included the work Still life with fruit by Peter Collis. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,861.17), 31% above the upper estimate. With this result, Still life with fruit is even the most expensive work of art by Peter Collis that we have observed at auctions so far.
