Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Australian Yarra Valley Landscape by Penleigh Boyd was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2009. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 48,000.00 (€ 29,269.31), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Penleigh Boyd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Ghost Gum At Kangaroo Flat in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 264,000.00 (€ 157,865.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Australian Yarra Valley Landscape von Penleigh Boyd wurde im November 2009 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 48.000,00 (€ 29.269,31) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Penleigh Boyd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Ghost Gum At Kangaroo Flat im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 264.000,00 (€ 157.865,85).
