Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian woodcutter'S Cottage by Penleigh Boyd was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The price achieved of AUD 25,200.00 (€ 14,710.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Penleigh Boyd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Ghost Gum At Kangaroo Flat in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 264,000.00 (€ 157,865.85).

Die Arbeit Australian woodcutter'S Cottage von Penleigh Boyd wurde im August 2008 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 25.200,00 (€ 14.710,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Penleigh Boyd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Ghost Gum At Kangaroo Flat im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 264.000,00 (€ 157.865,85).
