This artwork by Penleigh Boyd achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Sydney in May 2007. In the Important Australian Art Including Works from the Qantas Collection auction, the work Australian Hawkesbury River sold for AUD 198,000.00 (€ 121,746.52) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 90,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Penleigh Boyd; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Australian Ghost Gum At Kangaroo Flat sold at auction in August 2007 with the realized price of AUD 264,000.00 (€ 157,865.85).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Penleigh Boyd erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in Sydney einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Works from the Qantas Collection wurde die Arbeit Australian Hawkesbury River für AUD 198.000,00 (€ 121.746,52) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 90.000,00.
