In June 2015 Sothebys in Beijing held the auction Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art, which included the work Robe Series: Meeting In The Forest by Peng Wei. The »bidding war« ended at CNY 401,200.00 (€ 58,018.25), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peng Wei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reunion Of The Lost Stones At Gen Yue in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 2,242,000.00 (€ 264,636.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2015 führte Sothebys in Beijing die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Robe Series: Meeting In The Forest von Peng Wei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von CNY 401.200,00 (€ 58.018,25) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peng Wei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reunion Of The Lost Stones At Gen Yue im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.242.000,00 (€ 264.636,26).
