Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Navaja suiza X by Pedro Reyes was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,142.00 (€ 1,930.95). Admittedly, works by Pedro Reyes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Guitarra in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 20,160.00 (€ 17,167.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Navaja suiza X von Pedro Reyes im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.142,00 (€ 1.930,95) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pedro Reyes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Guitarra im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 17.167,67).
