In November 2012 Christies in London held the auction Post War and Contemporary Art 1990 To Now, which included the work Background by Paul Morrison. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,699.37), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Morrison have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Protoplasm in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 26,400.00 (€ 38,200.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art 1990 To Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Background von Paul Morrison zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.699,37) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Morrison auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Protoplasm im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.400,00 (€ 38.200,36).
