Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Paul McCarthy. The price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,768.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul McCarthy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tripod in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,045,000.00 (€ 1,836,551.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Paul McCarthy zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.768,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul McCarthy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tripod im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.045.000,00 (€ 1.836.551,41).
