Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Paul Chan was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 6,300.00 (€ 6,433.53). Admittedly, works by Paul Chan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Body of Oh Rosette (True Type Font) in December last year with an auction result of USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,266.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Paul Chan im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 6.300,00 (€ 6.433,53) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Chan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Body of Oh Rosette (True Type Font) im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 28.266,97).
