Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Paul Chan was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 5,040.00 (€ 613.33). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Chan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Body of Oh Rosette (True Type Font) in December last year with an auction result of USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,266.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Paul Chan im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 5.040,00 (€ 613,33) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Chan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Body of Oh Rosette (True Type Font) im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 28.266,97).
