Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work The Broken Jug by Patrick Hennessy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,800.00 (€ 15,892.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Patrick Hennessy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-Portrait, which sold at auction in September 2018 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,693.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Broken Jug von Patrick Hennessy zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.800,00 (€ 15.892,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Patrick Hennessy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-Portrait beobachtet, die im September 2018 für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.693,86) versteigert wurde.
