Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Carapace by Patrick Hennessy was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,629.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Patrick Hennessy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-Portrait, which sold at auction in September 2018 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,693.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Carapace von Patrick Hennessy kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.629,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Patrick Hennessy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-Portrait beobachtet, die im September 2018 für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.693,86) versteigert wurde.
